The game between the M1 Minot State University Beavers and the M1 Adrian College Bulldogs was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end M1 Minot State University emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brett Nespor at 9:48 of the second period.

Nespor had two goals to lead the Beavers to victory.

M1 Minot State University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Adrian College to score on any of its five power plays. The Beavers put 34 shots on net during the contest, more than the 4.3 they average per game. M1 Minot State University could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Others who scored for M1 Minot State University included Lyndon Lipinski and Austin Yano, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Minot State University came via Brad Olynyk, who had two and Nicholas Zern, Jeremy Johnson, Robby Moar, and Bryce Lipinski, who contributed one each.

The Bulldogs were held below their usual level of production. M1 Adrian College averages 4.9 goals per game. The Bulldogs' offense rang up 40 shots on the Beavers' net.

M1 Adrian College was helped by Robert Bodette, who registered one goal. Bodette scored 9:29 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Minot State University. Alex Dobrzeniecki assisted on the tally. M1 Adrian College also got a goal from Matt Zaremba as well. In addition, M1 Adrian College received assists from Adam Bristol and Ted Anstett, who each chipped in one.

M1 Minot State University's Riley Hengen stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Beavers registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Austyn Roudebush recorded 30 saves for the Bulldogs. M1 Adrian College ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For the Bulldogs, Matthew Oneill was ejected from the game.
