Neatby leads TORONTO to shutout victory over BLUEWATER

TORONTO used a sparkling performance by Stephanie Neatby to take down BLUEWATER, as the netminder did not allow a goal in TORONTO's 8-0 shutout victory.

Haley Shugart was all over the ice for TORONTO, as she racked up two goals in the win. Shugart scored at 10:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO and again while 9:26 into the third to make the score 6-0 TORONTO.

TORONTO put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BLUEWATER to score on any of its three power plays. TORONTO forced BLUEWATER goalie Morgan Baker to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. TORONTO surpassed its usual scoring output this season. TORONTO has scored at the pace of 4.1 goals per game during the current campaign.

TORONTO also got points from Celine Frappier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jessie Eldridge, who also finished with two goals and one assist, and Mikyla Grant Mentis, who also registered one goal and one assist. Sabrina Repaci also scored for TORONTO. In addition, TORONTO received assists from Cara Clarke, who had two, Emma Low-A-Chee, who had three, and Claire Thompson, Connor Galway, Taylor Baker, and Tori Haywood, who contributed one each.

BLUEWATER also got a goal from Sierra Burt (PU) as well.

Neatby recorded 26 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Baker rejected 30 shots on goal for BLUEWATER. BLUEWATER incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
