STONEY CREEK rips BRAMPTON, 5-0

STONEY CREEK had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over BRAMPTON.

BRAMPTON's power play was ineffective against STONEY CREEK's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

STONEY CREEK was led by Emily Calligan, who racked up one goal and one assist. Calligan scored 39 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 STONEY CREEK. Rachael Smith provided the assist.

STONEY CREEK put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BRAMPTON to score on any of its six power plays. STONEY CREEK kept BRAMPTON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Allison Small made 44 saves on 49 shots.

STONEY CREEK additionally got points from Claire Merrick, who also had one goal and one assist and Alexa Vasko (PU), who also finished with one goal and one assist. STONEY CREEK also had goals scored by Kristin ONeill (A) and Kayla Vespa, who each put in one. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Sarah Jerome, who had one and Kristen Siermachesky (PU) and Amanda Butterfield, who each chipped in two.

BRAMPTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. STONEY CREEK's defense shut down BRAMPTON's forwards for much of the game, and BRAMPTON got off only eight shots during the contest.

Jaimie Rainville (PU) rejected eight shots on goal for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. BRAMPTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
