BURLINGTON tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but TORONTO held on for a 2-1 victory. TORONTO made the score 2-0 on a goal by Daryl Watts at 13:33 in the third period, and BURLINGTON got as close as 2-1 when Maggie Spratt-Mallick scored 14:03 into the third period. BURLINGTON was stymied by TORONTO's netminder Lindsay Wray, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Wray managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 1.57 prior to the game. TORONTO was led by Watts, who racked up one goal. TORONTO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. BURLINGTON was unable to stop TORONTO from sending pucks towards the net, and TORONTO eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Haley Shugart also scored for TORONTO. In addition, TORONTO received assists from Claire Thompson, Celine Frappier, Jessie Eldridge, and Mikyla Grant Mentis, who contributed one each.
