LEASIDE rips BLUEWATER, 4-0Leaside Arena Sun, Jan 25, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
LEASIDE had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-0 win over BLUEWATER. LEASIDE got the win thanks to a great game by Kaelyn Johnson, who had two goals and one assist. Johnson scored the first of her two goals at 4:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LEASIDE. Katriona McNeilly picked up the assist. Johnson's next tally made the score 4-0 LEASIDE with 10:11 left in the third period. LEASIDE's penalty kill excelled, as LEASIDE gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. LEASIDE forced BLUEWATER's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 36 shots and forcing 32 saves. Morgan Baker made 15 stops and Carley Molnar made 17. LEASIDE stifled BLUEWATER's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. LEASIDE outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, LEASIDE averages 1.7 goal per contest. LEASIDE also got points from McNeilly, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Jessica Robichaud (A) also scored for LEASIDE. More assists for LEASIDE came via Bronte Mutukistna, Siobhan Birch, and Emma Pye, who each chipped in one. BLUEWATER stifled LEASIDE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Carmen Lasis made 18 saves for LEASIDE on 18 shots. LEASIDE incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. BLUEWATER incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
