McGill(C) nets hat trick, leads WHITBY to 12-0 win over KINGSTON

KINGSTON could not stop WHITBY's Rhyen McGill(C), who tallied a hat trick in a 12-0 win.

McGill(C) got on the scoresheet 57 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 3:40 into the second and at 6:42 into the third.

WHITBY led 4-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

WHITBY managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. WHITBY wound up below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game. KINGSTON was unable to stop WHITBY from sending pucks towards the net, and WHITBY eventually piled up 53 shots on goal. WHITBY outdid its season average for goals scored. WHITBY averages 3.8 goals per game.

WHITBY also got points from Avery Mitchell, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Hailey Wilson, who also had one goal and one assist, Caitlyn Quartarone, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Katelyn Rae, who also registered one goal and one assist, Jaimie Grigsby, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Cassidy Vinkle(A), who also had one goal and three assists. WHITBY also had goals scored by Emily Volpe and Maya Patel, who each put in one. More assists for WHITBY came via Emily Reid, who had two, Victoria Howran, who had four, and Kirsten Welsh(A), Jaime Fox, and Briana Colangelo, who contributed one each.

KINGSTON found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere six shots against WHITBY's defense.

Rachel McQuigge recorded six saves for WHITBY. WHITBY registered two goals on five power play opportunities. KINGSTON's Jensen Murphy stopped 41 shots out of the 53 that she faced. KINGSTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors and had no power play opportunities.
