SOUTHWEST holds on for 5-4 win against BRAMPTON

BRAMPTON tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but SOUTHWEST would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-4.

A goal by Ellen Donaldson put SOUTHWEST up 4-0 in the second period, but BRAMPTON pulled to within one on Kaitlyn McAllister's tally 9:56 into the third period.

SOUTHWEST stifled BRAMPTON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. SOUTHWEST kept BRAMPTON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Allison Small made 32 saves on 37 shots. SOUTHWEST outdid its season average for goals scored. SOUTHWEST averages 1.5 goal per game. The defensemen of SOUTHWEST were also effective in BRAMPTON's zone, and came away with three goals.

SOUTHWEST was led by Angeline Taiariol (A), who grabbed three goals. Sara Mayrand (C) also scored for SOUTHWEST. Other players who recorded assists for SOUTHWEST were Amy Maitre, Muna Fadel, Savannah Bouzide, Meghan Power, Jordyn Wade, and Jenna Henry, who contributed one each.

BRAMPTON managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. BRAMPTON finished below its season average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game. BRAMPTON's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, BRAMPTON averages 1.5 goal per contest.

BRAMPTON was led by Rose Falzone, who finished with one goal and one assist. Falzone scored 5:49 into the third period to make the score 4-2 SOUTHWEST.
