Watts lifts TORONTO over KINGSTON, 5-2

Daryl Watts had two goals to lead TORONTO to a 5-2 victory over KINGSTON.

Watts scored at 10:43 into the third period to make the score 3-1 TORONTO and again while 17:55 into the third to make the score 4-2 TORONTO.

TORONTO put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow KINGSTON to score on any of its four power plays. TORONTO forced KINGSTON goalie Jensen Murphy to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots.

TORONTO additionally got points from Jessie Eldridge, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. TORONTO also had goals scored by Emma Low-A-Chee and Mikyla Grant Mentis, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Sabrina Repaci, who had one and Tori Haywood, who had two.

KINGSTON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four TORONTO power plays. KINGSTON did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 14 shots on net to force 12 saves.

KINGSTON was helped by Brianna Gaffney (A), who had one goal. Gaffney (A) scored 11:39 into the third period to make the score 3-2 TORONTO. Mariah McCue picked up the assist. Logan Conger also scored for KINGSTON. In addition, KINGSTON received assists from Laura Turcotte (C), Marissa Murphy, and Deena Birney, who each chipped in one.

Lindsay Wray made 12 saves for TORONTO on 14 shots. TORONTO incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Murphy rejected 46 shots on goal for KINGSTON. KINGSTON incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
