STONEY CREEK downs MISSISSAUGA in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

STONEY CREEK pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over MISSISSAUGA on a clutch goal by Kristin ONeill (A).

STONEY CREEK came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. STONEY CREEK trailed 2-0 after a goal by MISSISSAUGA's Emily Pinto at 10:32 in the first period. STONEY CREEK knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Kayla Vespa at 10:43 in the second period.

STONEY CREEK was sparked by ONeill (A), who tallied one goal and one assist. ONeill (A) scored 3:39 into overtime to make the score 3-2 STONEY CREEK. Sarah Hine picked up the assist.

STONEY CREEK excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. STONEY CREEK forced MISSISSAUGA goalie Lin Han to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Rachael Smith also scored for STONEY CREEK. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Alexa Vasko (PU), who had one and Paige Jackson (A), who had two.

MISSISSAUGA found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Nadine Edney (A) as well. Other players who recorded assists for MISSISSAUGA were Caitlyn Sadowy (A), Kelly Mariani (C), Lindsay Agnew, and Natalie Marcuzzi, who each chipped in one.

Jaimie Rainville (PU) rejected 13 shots on goal for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Han recorded 37 saves for MISSISSAUGA.
