BARRIE downs SOUTHWEST, 5-2

Dallas Dawson racked up two points to lead BARRIE to a 5-2 victory over SOUTHWEST.

BARRIE outdid its season average for goals scored. BARRIE averages 1.7 goal per game. BARRIE got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

BARRIE also got points from Reagan Kaufman, who also registered two goals and two assists to lead the team in points. BARRIE also had goals scored by Rachel Handy (PU) and Devon Viragh, who each put in one. In addition, BARRIE received assists from Kailyn Soers, who had two and Natalie Mangos (A) and Shayla Hele (A), who each chipped in one.

SOUTHWEST put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BARRIE to score on any of its three power plays. SOUTHWEST's offense rang up 32 shots on BARRIE's net.

SOUTHWEST was helped by Monica Sokolowski, who grabbed one goal. Sokolowski scored 10:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 SOUTHWEST. Savannah Bouzide assisted on the tally. Ellen Donaldson also scored for SOUTHWEST.

Briar Hughes made 30 saves for BARRIE on 32 shots. BARRIE incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. SOUTHWEST's starting goalie, Alex Rajsigl, made 10 saves and finished with the loss before she was taken out in favor of Hanna Slater, who stopped nine shots. SOUTHWEST incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
