NEPEAN beat BARRIE, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. NEPEAN took over the lead for good with a goal by Hannah Dinovitzer(PU) at 6:14 in the first period. Kalie Grant assisted on the tally.NEPEAN was paced by Dinovitzer(PU), who registered one goal. NEPEAN managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. NEPEAN wound up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. NEPEAN kept BARRIE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Briar Hughes made 40 saves on 42 shots. Josiane Pozzebon(A) also scored for NEPEAN. In addition, NEPEAN received assists from Leanne Baker, Devon Greenough, and Carolyn Williams, who contributed one each. BARRIE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow NEPEAN to score on any of its three power plays. BARRIE's offense was handcuffed by NEPEAN's defensive play, and BARRIE managed only 11 shots on goal during the game. NEPEAN's Kira Bombay stopped 11 shots out of the 11 that she faced. BARRIE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
