OTTAWA beats ETOBICOKE 4-3 after comeback scare

ETOBICOKE tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but OTTAWA held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Amanda Ieradi (A) put OTTAWA up 4-1 in the second period, but ETOBICOKE pulled to within one on Alison Hanson (C)'s tally 4:30 into the third period.

OTTAWA's penalty kill excelled, as OTTAWA gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays.

OTTAWA's offense rang up 32 shots on ETOBICOKE's net. OTTAWA could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

OTTAWA was helped by Coralie Larose, who registered one goal. Larose scored 10:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 OTTAWA. Ieradi (A) provided the assist. OTTAWA also got points from Ieradi (A), who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for OTTAWA included Caitlin Shanahan and Tasza Tarnowski, who each put in one. More assists for OTTAWA came via Maggie Knott, Sophie Rodenburg, Anonda Hoppner, Leah Scott, and Sophie Veronneau, who contributed one each.

ETOBICOKE additionally got points from Julia Parente, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. ETOBICOKE also got a goal from Elizabeth Gerace as well. In addition, ETOBICOKE received assists from Tory Harshman, Lauren Ellerton, and Rachel Santini, who each chipped in one.

Elizabeth Spinozzi recorded 26 saves for OTTAWA. OTTAWA registered one goal on five power play opportunities. ETOBICOKE's Christie Honor stopped 28 shots out of the 32 that she faced. ETOBICOKE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
