WHITBY rolls over OAKVILLE, 6-2

WHITBY had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over OAKVILLE.

Avery Mitchell was all over the ice for WHITBY, as she tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Mitchell scored 2:51 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY.

WHITBY found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, WHITBY averages 3.7 goals per contest. WHITBY's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

WHITBY also got points from Katelyn Rae, who also registered one goal and one assist. WHITBY also had goals scored by Victoria Howran, who had two and Caitlyn Quartarone and Alicia Pallister (PU), who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Maya Patel, who had two and Hailey Wilson and Jaimie Grigsby, who each chipped in one.

OAKVILLE managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. OAKVILLE ended up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game. OAKVILLE's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. OAKVILLE is averaging 1.4 goal against for the season.

OAKVILLE was led by Christina Putigna, who had one goal. Putigna scored 12:09 into the first period to make the score 3-1 WHITBY. Alessia Marchese provided the assist. OAKVILLE also got a goal from Loren Gabel as well. In addition, OAKVILLE received assists from Julia Edgar, Emma Maltais, and Jazz Kennedy, who contributed one each.
