BLUEWATER beats KINGSTON 4-2 after comeback scare

KINGSTON tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but BLUEWATER would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

A goal by Morgan McCann (A-Away) put BLUEWATER up 4-0 in the second period, but KINGSTON pulled to within two on Deena Birney's tally 10:49 into the third period.

BLUEWATER kept KINGSTON's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jensen Murphy made 35 saves on 39 shots. BLUEWATER's goal total was higher than its season average. BLUEWATER has scored at the pace of 1.4 goal per game during the current campaign.

BLUEWATER was helped by Emily Franze, who finished with one goal. Franze scored 3:29 into the first period to make the score 2-0 BLUEWATER. Katreena Whiteye assisted on the tally. BLUEWATER also got points from McCann (A-Away), who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for BLUEWATER included Emma Forcey and Meredith Goldhawk, who scored one goal each. In addition, BLUEWATER received assists from Devon Facchinato, Olivia Lynch, and Abby Dortmans (A-Away), who contributed one each.

KINGSTON stifled BLUEWATER's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

KINGSTON also got a goal from Brianna Gaffney (A) as well. More assists for KINGSTON came via Laura Turcotte (C), Hayley Williams, and Mariah McCue, who each chipped in one.

BLUEWATER's Carley Molnar stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that she faced. BLUEWATER incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. KINGSTON incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
