BLUEWATER wins tough contest against BARRIE, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, BLUEWATER escaped with a 3-2 victory over BARRIE.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Meredith Goldhawk at 7:52 of the third period.

Goldhawk was all over the ice for BLUEWATER, as she racked up two goals in the win.

BLUEWATER managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. BLUEWATER finished below its season average of 7.0 penalty minutes per game.

Katreena Whiteye also scored for BLUEWATER. Other players who recorded assists for BLUEWATER were Abby Dortmans (A-home), Veronica Harrigan, Morgan McCann (A-home), and Bradey Couwenberg (C), who each chipped in one.

BARRIE was helped by Kelley Graham, who registered one goal. Graham scored 14:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Natalie Mangos (A) picked up the assist. BARRIE also got a goal from Reagan Kaufman as well. In addition, BARRIE received assists from Alex Frigon and Kara Washer (C), who contributed one each.

BLUEWATER's Morgan Baker stopped 18 shots out of the 20 that she faced. BLUEWATER registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Briar Hughes rejected 21 shots on goal for BARRIE. BARRIE finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-1 with the man advantage.
