TORONTO outlasts ETOBICOKE, 4-2

TORONTO and ETOBICOKE were evenly matched throughout their contest, but TORONTO made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

TORONTO gained the winning advantage on a goal by Haley Shugart 6:40 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

TORONTO's penalty kill excelled, as TORONTO gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

TORONTO was sparked by Shugart, who tallied one goal and one assist.

TORONTO stifled ETOBICOKE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. TORONTO's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as TORONTO finished with 14 penalty minutes.

TORONTO also got points from Sabrina Repaci, who also had one goal and one assist. TORONTO also had goals scored by Celine Frappier and Kaitlin Tse, who scored one goal each. More assists for TORONTO came via Jessie Eldridge, who had two and Daryl Watts and Cara Clarke, who each chipped in one.

ETOBICOKE was helped by Willow Corson, who finished with two goals. Corson scored the first of her two goals at 3:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 ETOBICOKE. Emily Landry (A) provided the assist. Corson's next tally made the score 2-2 with 13:51 left in the third period. Emilia Cotter (A) picked up the assist.

Stephanie Neatby recorded 24 saves for TORONTO. TORONTO registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Fabiana Petricca made 23 saves for ETOBICOKE on 27 shots. ETOBICOKE incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
