GAME RECAP

BLUEWATER hangs on, beats WATERLOO 1-0

Pyramid Recreation Centre    Sat, Nov 15, 2014

Morgan McCann (A) (Home) gave BLUEWATER the lead in the first period, and WATERLOO was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 1-0.

A goal 1:14 into the first period by McCann (A) (Home) proved to be the game winner, and powered BLUEWATER to the victory. Katreena Whiteye picked up the assist.

BLUEWATER was boosted by Carley Molnar, who turned in a shutout with 33 saves. Molnar managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 2.29 prior to the game.

BLUEWATER pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

BLUEWATER put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WATERLOO to score on any of its eight power plays. BLUEWATER was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. BLUEWATER allows 2.8 goals per game.

Other players who recorded assists for BLUEWATER were Veronica Harrigan, who had one.

WATERLOO's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five BLUEWATER power plays. WATERLOO forced BLUEWATER goalie Molnar to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

WATERLOO's Cohen Myers stopped 22 shots out of the 23 that she faced. WATERLOO incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
