WHITBY tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but STONEY CREEK held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Sarah Quaranta (C) put STONEY CREEK up 4-1 in the second period, but WHITBY pulled to within one on Maya Patel's tally 13:15 into the third period.

WHITBY's defense shut down STONEY CREEK's forwards for much of the game, and STONEY CREEK got off only 13 shots during the contest.

STONEY CREEK was led by Kristin ONeill (A), who had one goal and one assist. ONeill (A) scored 4:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 STONEY CREEK. Sarah Jerome picked up the assist. STONEY CREEK additionally got points from Sarah Hine, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Paige Jackson (A) also scored for STONEY CREEK. More assists for STONEY CREEK came via Taylor McMahon, who had one and Rachael Smith, who had two.

WHITBY managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. WHITBY wound up below its season average of 8.0 penalty minutes per game. WHITBY's defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. WHITBY is averaging 1.8 goal against for the season.
