LONDON shrugs off penalties, upends KINGSTON, 6-3

LONDON, which found itself down a man often, weathered KINGSTON's power play opportunities and emerged with a 6-3 victory.

LONDON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven KINGSTON power plays. KINGSTON was unable to stop LONDON from sending pucks towards the net, and LONDON eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. LONDON's goal total was higher than its season average. LONDON has scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign. LONDON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game.

LONDON was led by Nicole Miners, who tallied two goals and one assist. Miners scored the first of her two goals at 9:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 LONDON. Miners' next tally made the score 3-1 LONDON with 13:29 left in the second period. Emily Bowman assisted on the tally. LONDON also got points from Bowman, who also registered one goal and one assist. LONDON also had goals scored by Lexie Adzija, Kiernyn Campbell, and Sydnee Baker, who each put in one. In addition, LONDON received assists from Erika Raycroft, Beatrice Dufour, and Bryce Desa, who each chipped in one and Stacey Henshaw and April Clark (A), who contributed two each.

KINGSTON stifled LONDON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. KINGSTON's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.

KINGSTON was helped by Deena Birney, who finished with two goals. Birney scored the first of her two goals at 13:23 into the first period to make the score 2-1 LONDON. Mariah McCue picked up the assist. Birney's next tally made the score 4-3 LONDON with 10:42 left in the second period. Brianna Gaffney (A) assisted on the tally. KINGSTON also got a goal from Logan Conger as well. Other players who recorded assists for KINGSTON were Kassidy Ford, who had one.

Molly Jenkins rejected 19 shots on goal for LONDON. LONDON registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. Jensen Murphy recorded 33 saves for KINGSTON. KINGSTON incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
