CAMBRIDGE survives STONEY CREEK comeback, wins 3-2

STONEY CREEK tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but CAMBRIDGE held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Shannon Pearson put CAMBRIDGE up 3-0 in the second period, but STONEY CREEK pulled to within one on Kristin ONeill (A)'s tally 19:37 into the third period.

STONEY CREEK's defense shut down CAMBRIDGE's forwards for much of the game, and CAMBRIDGE got off only 13 shots during the contest. CAMBRIDGE's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as CAMBRIDGE finished with 18 penalty minutes.

More assists for CAMBRIDGE came via Maggie Kolcon, Miranda Lantz (A), Aylssa Chiarello (A), Morgan Rolph, and Brooklyn Davis, who each chipped in one.

STONEY CREEK's offense rang up 36 shots on CAMBRIDGE's net.

STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Rachael Smith as well. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Nicole Collier, who had two and Laura Crowdis (A) and Sarah Jerome, who contributed one each.

CAMBRIDGE's Lauren Webber stopped 34 shots out of the 36 that she faced. CAMBRIDGE registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Serena DAngelo recorded 10 saves for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
