MISSISSAUGA outlasts NEPEAN, 4-3

MISSISSAUGA and NEPEAN were evenly matched throughout their contest, but MISSISSAUGA made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Kelly Mariani (C) at 14:25 of the third period.

MISSISSAUGA was led by Mariani (C), who had one goal.

MISSISSAUGA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five NEPEAN power plays.

MISSISSAUGA additionally got points from Nadine Edney (A), who also finished with one goal and one assist and Emily Pinto, who also tallied one goal and one assist. MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Caitlyn Sadowy (A) as well. Other players who recorded assists for MISSISSAUGA were Lindsay Agnew, who had two and Stephanie Sucharda (A) and Jacky Miller, who each chipped in one.

NEPEAN put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow MISSISSAUGA to score on any of its four power plays.

NEPEAN was helped by Josiane Pozzebon(A), who grabbed one goal. Pozzebon(A) scored 13:10 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alyssa Baker(A) assisted on the tally. NEPEAN also got points from Baker(A), who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Katie Rankin(PU) also scored for NEPEAN. More assists for NEPEAN came via Cynthia St Cyr, Leanne Baker, Kristy Pidgeon, and Lindsay Eastwood(C), who contributed one each.

Elijah Milne-Price made 22 saves for MISSISSAUGA on 25 shots. MISSISSAUGA incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kira Bombay recorded 21 saves for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
