OAKVILLE stifles LONDON's comeback, gains 2-1 victory

LONDON almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but OAKVILLE managed to pull out a 2-1 win in the end.

OAKVILLE led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when OAKVILLE's Amy Curlew scored at 10:41 in the third period to put OAKVILLE up 3-0.

Emma Maltais was all over the ice for OAKVILLE, as she racked up two goals in the win. Maltais' tallies came at 7:05 into the second period to make the score 1-0 OAKVILLE and 29 seconds into the third to make the score 2-0 OAKVILLE.

OAKVILLE stifled LONDON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. LONDON was unable to stop OAKVILLE from sending pucks towards the net, and OAKVILLE eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

More assists for OAKVILLE came via Olivia Atkinson, Madison Field, and Loren Gabel, who each chipped in one.

LONDON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OAKVILLE to score on any of its three power plays. LONDON did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 12 saves.

LONDON was led by Kaylie Dennis (C), who scored the team's only goal. Dennis (C) scored 17:09 into the third period to make the score 3-1 OAKVILLE. April Clark (A) picked up the assist.

OAKVILLE's starting goalie, Nikki Cece, made five saves and finished with the win before she was taken out in favor of Taylor Scott (PU), who stopped seven shots. OAKVILLE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Molly Jenkins rejected 30 shots on goal for LONDON. LONDON incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
