WHITBY rolls over BLUEWATER, 9-0

WHITBY had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-0 win over BLUEWATER.

Emily Volpe had two goals to lead WHITBY to victory. Volpe scored at 33 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY and again while 9:45 into the third to make the score 8-0 WHITBY.

WHITBY forced BLUEWATER's goalies to work without much rest, taking 49 shots and forcing 40 saves. Carley Molnar made 26 stops and Morgan Baker made 14. WHITBY excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. WHITBY surpassed its usual scoring output this season. WHITBY averages 4.1 goals per game.

WHITBY also got points from Katelyn Rae, who also racked up three goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Rhyen McGill(C), who also had one goal and one assist. Hailey Wilson also scored for WHITBY. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Jaime Fox, who had one, Caitlyn Quartarone, who had three, and Kirsten Welsh(A), Victoria Howran, and Briana Colangelo, who contributed two each.

BLUEWATER's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three WHITBY power plays. BLUEWATER did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting seven shots on net to force seven saves.

Emma Schram made seven saves for WHITBY on seven shots. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. BLUEWATER incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
