WHITBY downs AURORA, 6-2

Jaimie Grigsby had two points to lead WHITBY to a 6-2 victory over AURORA.

WHITBY's offense rang up 38 shots on AURORA's net. WHITBY surpassed its usual scoring output this season. WHITBY averages 3.5 goals per game.

WHITBY also got points from Caitlyn Quartarone, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Emily Volpe, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Rhyen McGill(C), who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for WHITBY included Victoria Howran and Cassidy Vinkle(A), who scored one goal each. More assists for WHITBY came via Briana Colangelo, who had two and Maya Patel and Emily Reid, who each chipped in one.

AURORA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WHITBY to score on any of its four power plays. AURORA found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against WHITBY's defense.

AURORA was helped by Taylor McIntyre, who had one goal. McIntyre scored 12:02 into the second period to make the score 4-2 WHITBY. Madison Lee assisted on the tally. AURORA also got a goal from Claudia Black as well. Other players who recorded assists for AURORA were Tara Morning (A) and Becca Chilvers, who contributed one each.

WHITBY's Emma Schram stopped 11 shots out of the 13 that she faced. WHITBY incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Taylor Lemmon rejected 32 shots on goal for AURORA. AURORA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
