BARRIE survived a determined comeback attempt by BRAMPTON on the way to a 2-1 win. BARRIE made the score 2-0 on a goal by Danika Phillips at 9:14 in the second period, and BRAMPTON got as close as 2-1 when Lauren McDonald scored 10:45 into the third period. BARRIE's Briar Hughes was a brick wall in net, as she came up with 29 saves and let only one puck past her. Hughes managed to improve on her goals against average, which stood at 4.53 prior to the game. BARRIE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BRAMPTON to score on any of its four power plays. BARRIE also got a goal from Kara Washer (C) as well. More assists for BARRIE came via Michelle Morrison and Shayla Hele (A), who contributed one each. In addition, BRAMPTON received assists from Rose Falzone and Lauren Webb, who each chipped in one.
