OAKVILLE had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over CAMBRIDGE. OAKVILLE pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. OAKVILLE's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six CAMBRIDGE power plays. OAKVILLE kept CAMBRIDGE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Julia Vandyk made 26 saves on 31 shots. OAKVILLE was helped by Madison Field, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Field scored the first of her two goals at 2:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 OAKVILLE. Emma Maltais assisted on the tally. Field's next tally made the score 3-0 OAKVILLE with 11:20 left in the second period. OAKVILLE additionally got points from Maltais, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Jaime Bourbonnais, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. OAKVILLE also got a goal from Cassidy MacPherson as well. More assists for OAKVILLE came via Alessia Marchese, who had two and Olivia Atkinson and Jazz Kennedy, who contributed one each. CAMBRIDGE's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. CAMBRIDGE is averaging 1.6 goal against for the season. CAMBRIDGE's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as CAMBRIDGE finished with 14 penalty minutes. Nikki Cece rejected 24 shots on goal for OAKVILLE. OAKVILLE registered one goal on six power play opportunities.
