McGill(C)'s big game bests OTTAWA in 7-2 WHITBY win

Behind a great game by Rhyen McGill(C), who had four goals and one assist, WHITBY defeated OTTAWA, 7-2.

McGill(C) got on the scoresheet 5:48 into the first period. He then added goals at 10:19 into the second, at 14:20 into the second, and at 9:22 into the third.

WHITBY found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. WHITBY has scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

WHITBY additionally got points from Caitlyn Quartarone, who also had one goal and one assist and Cassidy Vinkle(A), who also racked up one goal and two assists. WHITBY also got a goal from Katelyn Rae as well. More assists for WHITBY came via Kirsten Welsh(A), Jaime Fox, and Maya Patel, who contributed one each and Emily Volpe and Victoria Howran, who each chipped in two.

OTTAWA managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. OTTAWA wound up below its season average of 9.0 penalty minutes per game.

OTTAWA was helped by Cassidy Herman, who finished with one goal. Herman scored 3:47 into the second period to make the score 3-1 WHITBY. Coralie Larose picked up the assist. Sophie Veronneau also scored for OTTAWA. Other players who recorded assists for OTTAWA were Maggie Knott and Amanda Ieradi, who contributed one each.

WHITBY's Emma Schram stopped 15 shots out of the 17 that she faced. WHITBY incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Elizabeth Spinozzi made 23 saves for OTTAWA on 30 shots. OTTAWA registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
