BRAMPTON tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but KINGSTON would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1. KINGSTON took a 2-0 lead during the first period, only to have BRAMPTON storm back on a Laura Magliocchi goal 13:28 into the third period to pull to one goal down. BRAMPTON was stymied by KINGSTON's netminder Jensen Murphy, who stopped 37 shots during the victory. The solid play of Murphy will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 1.78. KINGSTON was helped by Deena Birney, who registered one goal. Birney scored 13:28 into the first period to make the score 2-0 KINGSTON. Kassidy Ford provided the assist. KINGSTON also got a goal from Brianna Gaffney (A) as well. BRAMPTON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow KINGSTON to score on any of its three power plays. BRAMPTON forced KINGSTON goalie Murphy to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. More assists for BRAMPTON came via Abby Hofstra and Kaitlyn Hatzes, who each chipped in one. KINGSTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Allison Small rejected 23 shots on goal for BRAMPTON. BRAMPTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
