Huge game by Smid boosts M1 Mercyhurst University over M1 John Carroll University, 5-2

The M1 Mercyhurst University Lakers' Michal Smid had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-2 win over the M1 John Carroll University Blue Streaks.

Smid scored at 14:13 into the second period to make the score 4-2 M1 Mercyhurst University and again while 11:21 into the third to make the score 6-2 M1 Mercyhurst University.

M1 Mercyhurst University's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The 38 shots that the Lakers put on net surpassed M1 Mercyhurst University's average of 1.9 shot per game this season. The Lakers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.
