Fielden nets hat trick, leads M1 Kent State University to 5-2 win over M1 John Carroll University

Jared Fielden lifted the M1 Kent State University Golden Flashes to a 5-2 victory with a hat trick against the M1 John Carroll University Blue Streaks.

Fielden's first goal came 8:50 into the first period. He then added goals at 1:36 into the second and at 18:45 into the third.

M1 Kent State University kept M1 John Carroll University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matthew Russell made 29 saves on 34 shots.

M1 Kent State University also got points from Andrew Radosevic, who also tallied one goal and one assist. M1 Kent State University also got a goal from Collin Cannister as well. In addition, M1 Kent State University received assists from Caleb Gannelli, who had two, Troy Bubanic, who had three, and Robert Rhue, Alex Compean, and Trevor Palocsik, who contributed one each.

The Blue Streaks put 20 shots on net during the contest, more than the 3.6 they average per game.

M1 John Carroll University was helped by Spencer Keglovic, who racked up one goal. Keglovic scored on the power play 6:58 into the third period to make the score 4-2 M1 Kent State University. An interference penalty on Fielden had put the Blue Streaks on the power play. Parker Phillips picked up the assist. Joe Lane also scored for M1 John Carroll University. More assists for M1 John Carroll University came via Matthew Thomas, Cullen McMahon, and Logan Lopicka, who each chipped in one.

Zachary Nowak recorded 18 saves for the Golden Flashes. M1 Kent State University incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. M1 John Carroll University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
