M1 Kent State University survives M1 Rochester College comeback, wins 3-2

The M1 Kent State University Golden Flashes survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Rochester College Warriors on the way to a 3-2 win.

M1 Kent State University made the score 3-1 on a goal by Chance Taylor at 16:36 in the third period, and M1 Rochester College got as close as 3-2 when Matt Kadolph scored 18:41 into the third period.

Taylor had two goals to lead the Golden Flashes to victory.

Kyle Schaefer also scored for M1 Kent State University. In addition, M1 Kent State University received assists from Trevor Handlovitch, who had two and Chad Parise, Jonathon Buttitta, and Robin Danielsson, who contributed one each.

The Warriors could not produce up to their normal offensive output. M1 Rochester College averages 4.1 goals per game.

The Warriors were helped by Brock Malatches, who registered one goal. Malatches scored 3:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Rochester College. Kadolph picked up the assist. M1 Rochester College additionally got points from Kadolph, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for M1 Rochester College came via Joshua Botimer, who had one.

Sky Buller recorded 19 saves for M1 Kent State University. The Golden Flashes incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. M1 Rochester College's Brenden Kruckenberg stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Warriors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
