M1 Oswego State University wins tough contest against M1 Duquesne University, 3-2

The M1 Oswego State University Lakers gutted out a close 3-2 win against the M1 Duquesne University Dukes.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Deivn Coon at 19:42 of the third period.

M1 Oswego State University was sparked by Coon, who registered one goal.

The Lakers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four M1 Duquesne University power plays. M1 Oswego State University forced M1 Duquesne University goalie Shane Myers to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Others who scored for M1 Oswego State University included Nicolas Epping and Richie Santini, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Oswego State University were Kegan Storjohann, who had two and Marc Weyl, Brendon Wormley, and Ben Paige, who each chipped in one.

With 62 shots on target during the contest, the Dukes exceeded the 1.4 shot they average per game this year.

M1 Duquesne University was helped by Nolan Trombetta, who finished with one goal. Trombetta scored 17:35 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Kyle Brown assisted on the tally. Zak Kindya also scored for M1 Duquesne University. In addition, M1 Duquesne University received assists from Julian Rizza, who had two.

The Lakers' Dylan Niewiemski stopped 60 shots out of the 62 that he faced. M1 Oswego State University incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. Myers rejected 45 shots on goal for the Dukes. M1 Duquesne University incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
