M1 Towson University outlasts M2 Virginia Tech University, 4-2

The M1 Towson University Tigers gutted out a close 4-2 win against M2 Virginia Tech University.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Matt Stella secured the win for M1 Towson University with a goal in the third period.

The Tigers got the win with help from a great game by Stella, who had one goal and two assists. Stella scored 7:39 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Towson University. Joe Vonakis assisted on the tally.

By firing 37 shots on goal, M1 Towson University exceeded the 0.8 shots it averages per game this year.

M1 Towson University additionally got points from Casey Jendras, who also registered one goal and one assist and Vonakis, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. In addition, M1 Towson University received assists from Chris Szoka, who had two and Nicholas Bickerstaff and Michael Darosa, who each chipped in one.

M2 Virginia Tech University kept the Tigers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Stewardson made 38 saves on 40 shots.

M2 Virginia Tech University was helped by Felipe Rodriguez, who finished with one goal. Rodriguez scored 13:05 into the second period to make the score 2-1 M2 Virginia Tech University. Robert Vasinko picked up the assist. Max Grande also scored for M2 Virginia Tech University. More assists for M2 Virginia Tech University came via Tyler Nolan, who had one.

M1 Towson University incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Tanner Jones rejected 33 shots on goal for M2 Virginia Tech University. M2 Virginia Tech University incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
