M1 Liberty University holds on for 4-3 win against M1 Arizona / University of

The M1 Liberty University Flames survived a determined comeback attempt by the M1 Arizona / University of Wildcats on the way to a 4-3 win.

M1 Liberty University made the score 4-2 on a goal by Luke Hannon at 6:41 in the third period, and M1 Arizona / University of got as close as 4-3 when Matt Reed scored 7:05 into the third period.

The Flames got the win behind a great game by Hannon, who had two goals and one assist. Hannon scored the first of his two goals at 49 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Liberty University. Paul Lamoureux provided the assist. Hannon's next tally made the score 4-2 M1 Liberty University with 13:19 left in the third period. M1 Liberty University had gotten the advantage when the Wildcats' Alexander Vazquez was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Luke Simon picked up the assist.

The Flames' offense revolved around and Cary Byron, who put and 42 shots on net. M1 Liberty University stifled M1 Arizona / University of's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Flames kept the Wildcats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Garrett Patrick made 33 saves on 37 shots.

M1 Liberty University also had goals scored by Ben Hughes and Lindsay LeBlanc, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Liberty University came via Cam Bakker and Ryley Egan, who each chipped in one.

M1 Arizona / University of's offense was clicking better than usual and put 42 shots on goal during the game, better than the 3.3 shots per game it averages.

The Wildcats were helped by Robbie Wilkinson, who registered one goal. Wilkinson scored short handed 4:02 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Liberty University. Matthew Nowicki assisted on the tally. Alex ODea also scored for M1 Arizona / University of. In addition, M1 Arizona / University of received assists from Orion Olsen, who had two and Alex Nespor, William Pointon, and Kyle Griffin, who contributed one each.

Cary Byron made 39 saves for M1 Liberty University on 42 shots. The Flames incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. M1 Arizona / University of totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-6 on the power play.
