M1 Western Michigan University vanquishes M1 Michigan-Dearborn / Univ of in shootout, 6-5 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Western Michigan University Stallions defeated the M1 Michigan-Dearborn / Univ of Wolverines in a shootout 6-5 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.

M1 Western Michigan University saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Stallions made the score 5-3 on a goal by Jacob Taiariol at 7:09 in the third period. M1 Michigan-Dearborn / Univ of evened things up at 5-5 on a goal by Gino Darin at 17:07 in the third period.

Cole Kapovich had a great game for M1 Western Michigan University, netting two goals. Kapovich's tallies came at 14:28 into the first period to make the score 2-1 M1 Michigan-Dearborn / Univ of and 2:38 into the second to make the score 2-2.
