A goal by James Mcging put M1 Illinois / University of up 5-3 in the third period, but M1 Oklahoma / University of pulled to within one on Ty Jones's tally 18:51 into the third period. Mcging had two goals to lead the Fighting Illini to victory. The 22 shots that M1 Illinois / University of put on net surpassed the Fighting Illini's average of 1.5 shot per game this season.
