M1 Adrian College uses shootout to best M1 Davenport University, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Adrian College Bulldogs defeated the M1 Davenport University Panthers in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.

M1 Adrian College saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Bulldogs made the score 2-0 on a power play goal by Erik Alden at 10:27 in the second period. M1 Davenport University evened things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Everett Thompson at 19:10 in the third period.

The Panthers were stymied by M1 Adrian College's netminder Austyn Roudebush, who stopped 28 shots during the victory. Roudebush certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.93 entering the contest.

The Bulldogs' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as M1 Adrian College finished with 21 penalty minutes.

By firing 30 shots on goal, M1 Davenport University exceeded the 2.5 shots it averages per game this year. The Panthers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Davenport University also got points from Luke Mccarthy, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, M1 Davenport University received assists from Winston Hofer, Andrew Frank, and Mason Bohlinger, who contributed one each.

The Bulldogs registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Matt Kaludis made 27 saves for M1 Davenport University on 29 shots. The Panthers registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
