M1 Adrian College beats M1 Davenport University 2-1 after comeback scare

The M1 Davenport University Panthers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the M1 Adrian College Bulldogs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 2-1.

A goal by Brad Kobryn put M1 Adrian College up 2-0 in the second period, but M1 Davenport University pulled to within one on Kody Polin's tally 19:05 into the third period.

The Panthers were stymied by the Bulldogs' netminder Austyn Roudebush, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Roudebush certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.09 entering the contest.

M1 Adrian College put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Davenport University to score on any of its five power plays. The Bulldogs were held below their usual level of production. M1 Adrian College averages 5.1 goals per game. The Bulldogs' offense rang up 35 shots on the Panthers' net.

Nicholas Goettel also scored for M1 Adrian College. More assists for M1 Adrian College came via Andre Rakas, Ted Anstett, Matthew Oneill, and Darren Tarasoff, who each chipped in one.

M1 Davenport University could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Panthers put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. M1 Davenport University's offense rang up 32 shots on M1 Adrian College's net.

The Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Matt Kaludis recorded 33 saves for the Panthers. M1 Davenport University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
