Huge game by Rakas boosts M1 Adrian College over M1 Eastern Michigan University, 6-2

The M1 Adrian College Bulldogs' Andre Rakas had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 6-2 win over the M1 Eastern Michigan University Eagles.

Rakas scored 16:43 into the second period to make the score 3-2 M1 Adrian College. Chris Derochie picked up the assist. Rakas dished an assist on Alex Dobrzeniecki's goal that made the score 1-1 at 7:21 into the first period. He then added assists on Derochie's goal at 1:37 into the third and on Brad Kobryn's goal at 12:59 into the third.

M1 Eastern Michigan University's seven penalties came back to haunt it, as the Eagles let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

M1 Adrian College forced M1 Eastern Michigan University goalie Sando Arapovic to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Bulldogs' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. M1 Adrian College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

M1 Adrian College additionally got points from Nicholas Goettel, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Derochie, who also had one goal and two assists, Kobryn, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Robert Bodette, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, M1 Adrian College received assists from Erik Alden, who had one and Matt Zaremba, who had two.

The Eagles were often in penalty trouble, totaling six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. M1 Eastern Michigan University surpassed its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. The 25 shots that the Eagles put on net surpassed M1 Eastern Michigan University's average of 3.9 shots per game this season.

The Eagles were led by Anthony Stankiewicz, who tallied one goal and one assist. Stankiewicz scored on the power play 7:20 into the second period to make the score 2-2. A tripping penalty on Erik Wentzel had put M1 Eastern Michigan University on the power play. Jon Farkas assisted on the tally. M1 Eastern Michigan University also got a goal from Bryan Kozlowski as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Eastern Michigan University were Zachary Willis and Lucas Linville, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs' Austyn Roudebush stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Sando Arapovic made 35 saves for the Eagles on 41 shots. M1 Eastern Michigan University registered two goals on six power play opportunities.
