M1 Syracuse University holds on for 4-2 win against M1 West Virginia University

The M1 West Virginia University Mountaineers tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the M1 Syracuse University Orange held on for a 4-2 victory.

M1 Syracuse University made the score 4-1 on a goal by Thomas DiPasquale at 15:17 in the third period, and M1 West Virginia University got as close as 4-2 when Tyler Conaway scored 17:59 into the third period.

The Orange were led by Nolan Metzler, who grabbed one goal. Metzler scored 14:46 into the third period to make the score 3-1 M1 Syracuse University. Dillon Tamer picked up the assist.

M1 Syracuse University additionally got points from DiPasquale, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for M1 Syracuse University included John Ross LaPointe and Benjamin King, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Syracuse University came via Tim Elie, David Taft, and Matthew Divietro, who each chipped in one.

The Mountaineers' offense was clicking better than usual and put 21 shots on goal during the game, better than the 0.5 shots per game they average.

M1 West Virginia University also got a goal from Gerard Clayton as well. In addition, M1 West Virginia University received assists from Brandon Richards and Kyle Wainwright, who contributed one each.

M1 Syracuse University's starting goalie, Austin Lefkowicz, made 10 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Jaime Ketchabaw, who stopped nine shots. The Orange incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ian Donnan recorded 22 saves for M1 West Virginia University. The Mountaineers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
