Huge game by DiPasquale boosts M1 Syracuse University over M1 West Virginia University, 5-2

Behind a great game by Thomas DiPasquale, who had two goals and one assist, the M1 Syracuse University Orange defeated the M1 West Virginia University Mountaineers, 5-2.

DiPasquale found the back of the net on the power play 1:59 into the third period to make the score 3-1 M1 Syracuse University and again while short handed 17:08 into the third to make the score 5-2 M1 Syracuse University.

M1 Syracuse University's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three M1 West Virginia University power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

M1 Syracuse University additionally got points from Tim Elie, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Nolan Metzler, who also racked up one goal and one assist. M1 Syracuse University also got a goal from Zach Bunick as well. More assists for M1 Syracuse University came via Robert Amos, who had one and Ben Ferro and John Ross LaPointe, who each chipped in two.

M1 West Virginia University's penalty kill unit could not stop the Orange's power play, which converted on three of four opportunities. The 40 shots that the Mountaineers put on net surpassed M1 West Virginia University's average of 0.5 shots per game this season.

The Mountaineers were helped by Kyle Dolly, who finished with one goal. Dolly scored 8:48 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Syracuse University. Marty Hubert also scored for M1 West Virginia University. In addition, M1 West Virginia University received assists from Joseph Baker and James Murray, who contributed one each.

Jaime Ketchabaw took the win and made 17 saves before being replaced by Austin Lefkowicz who made 21 saves. M1 Syracuse University incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Eric Schaetzle rejected 24 shots on goal for M1 West Virginia University. The Mountaineers incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
