M1 Syracuse University uses shootout to best M1 Rhode Island / University of, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Syracuse University Orange defeated the M1 Rhode Island / University of Rams in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.

M1 Syracuse University forced M1 Rhode Island / University of goalie Andrew Sherman to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

The Orange were helped by Zach Bunick, who racked up one goal. Bunick scored on the power play 12:47 into the third period to make the score 3-2 M1 Syracuse University. A hooking penalty on Jackson Dennis had put M1 Syracuse University on the power play. David Taft assisted on the tally. Others who scored for M1 Syracuse University included Robert Amos and John Ross LaPointe, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Syracuse University came via Robert VanRaamsdonk, who had one and Thomas DiPasquale, who had two.

The Rams kept the Orange's goalie busy throughout the game, and Austin Lefkowicz made 42 saves on 45 shots. M1 Rhode Island / University of's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Rams give up 1.7 goal per game.
