M1 Drexel University falls to M1 Villanova University after surprising comeback

The M1 Villanova University Wildcats climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the M1 Drexel University Dragons, 6-5.

M1 Villanova University never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Wildcats trailed 3-0 after a power play goal by M1 Drexel University's Christopher Carroll at 14:59 in the first period. M1 Villanova University knotted things up at 3-3 on a power play goal by Michael Miniconzi at 18 seconds in the second period. The Wildcats scored the game winner at 2:39 in the second period on a goal by Miniconzi.

M1 Villanova University got the win thanks to a great game by Daniel Jigarjian, who had one goal and two assists. Jigarjian scored 8:24 into the third period to make the score 6-4 M1 Villanova University.

By firing 27 shots on goal, the Wildcats exceeded the 0.4 shots they average per game this year. M1 Villanova University gave up more goals than its normal season average. The Wildcats are averaging 2.5 goals against for the season. M1 Villanova University was effective with a man advantage, and put in two goals while on the power play. Matthew Williams picked up the assist. M1 Drexel University also got a goal from William Bascou as well. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Drexel University were Ryan Williams, who had one and Nick Lombardi, who had two.

Michael Harper recorded 24 saves for the Wildcats. Zachary Kantner rejected 21 shots on goal for the Dragons. M1 Drexel University incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
