Lombardi's hat trick boosts M1 Drexel University over M1 Lehigh University, 11-4

The M1 Lehigh University Mountain Hawks could not stop the M1 Drexel University Dragons' Nick Lombardi, who tallied a hat trick in an 11-4 win.

Lombardi's first goal came 4:11 into the second period. He then added goals at 4:45 into the second and at 16:20 into the third.

M1 Lehigh University fell victim to a deadly M1 Drexel University power play, which ripped the Mountain Hawks for four goals.

The Dragons' goal total was higher than their season average. M1 Drexel University has scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign. The Dragons put 62 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.1 they average per game.

M1 Drexel University also got points from Christopher Rodrigue, who also grabbed two goals and one assist and William Bascou, who also finished with one goal and three assists. Others who scored for M1 Drexel University included Tyler Woyshner, who had three and Ryan Beneduce and Zach Paro, who scored one goal each. More assists for M1 Drexel University came via Ryan Williams, who had four, Jess Manyoky, Stephen Villa, Matthew Meyer, and Matthew Williams, who contributed one each, and Alec Artosky and Christopher Carroll, who each chipped in two.

The 20 shots that M1 Lehigh University put on net surpassed the Mountain Hawks' average of 1.5 shot per game this season. M1 Lehigh University was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes.

The Mountain Hawks were helped by Henry Brooks, who registered two goals. Brooks scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:05 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Lehigh University. M1 Lehigh University had taken the advantage when M1 Drexel University's Maxwell Stetson got sent off for boarding. Ryan Staffen provided the assist. Brooks' next tally on the power play made the score 7-3 M1 Drexel University with 17:56 left in the third period. Joseph Ramondelli picked up the assist. M1 Lehigh University also had goals scored by Spencer Lehrer and Kevin McGee, who each put in one. In addition, M1 Lehigh University received assists from Justin Uzcategui, who had one and Christopher Ramondelli and Garren Fritts, who each chipped in two.

Dillon Gravenstine made six saves before being replaced by Zachary Kantner, who took the win and made 10 saves. The Dragons ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Patrick Walgren rejected 51 shots on goal for the Mountain Hawks. M1 Lehigh University registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
