M1 Canisius College uses early goal to top M1 Cortland State University of NY, 4-2

The M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins beat the M1 Cortland State University of NY Red Dragons, 4-2, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

Matthew Muszynski provided M1 Canisius College with the game-winning tally when he scored 17:03 into the first period. Andrew Ferrentino provided the assist.

The Golden Griffins were led by Muszynski, who had one goal.

In a losing effort, M1 Cortland State University of NY was paced by Joshua Graser, who registered two goals. Graser scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 29 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Cortland State University of NY. Daniel Nelson picked up the assist. Graser's next tally on the power play made the score 2-1 M1 Cortland State University of NY with 9:59 left in the first period. Anthony Belfiore provided the assist.

M1 Canisius College did not challenge the opposing goalie, firing only 13 shots on net to force nine saves.
