In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the M1 Canisius College Golden Griffins escaped with a 6-4 victory over the M1 Rochester College Warriors.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Chad Loughran at 12:27 of the second period.

Andrew Ferrentino and Loughran provided the spark for M1 Canisius College, combining for three goals and three assists. Ferrentino finished with two goals and one assist and Loughran also notched one goal and two assists.

The Golden Griffins put 34 shots on net during the contest, more than the 0.6 they average per game.

M1 Canisius College additionally got points from Samuel Burkhardt, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Loughran, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for M1 Canisius College included Connor Haseley and Brian Walter, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for M1 Canisius College were Stan Pawlow, Dimitrios Gogos, Patrick Hurtubise, Michael Mangone, and Jess Hackett, who each chipped in one.

M1 Canisius College was unable to stop M1 Rochester College from sending pucks towards the net, and the Warriors eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. M1 Rochester College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 44 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Warriors were helped by Kyle Truscott, who tallied two goals. Truscott scored the first of his two goals at 11:09 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Truscott's next tally made the score 3-2 M1 Rochester College with 15:03 left in the second period. Garrett Gostek picked up the assist. M1 Rochester College also got points from Brock Malatches, who also had one goal and one assist. Josh Foster also scored for M1 Rochester College. In addition, M1 Rochester College received assists from Joshua Botimer, Doug Lindensmith, and Dean Gordon, who contributed one each.

Bret Gilmour made 31 saves for the Golden Griffins on 35 shots. M1 Canisius College incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. M1 Rochester College's Zakk Olvin stopped 28 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Warriors registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
