Carroll leads M1 Drexel University over M1 Naval Academy / United States, 5-2

Christopher Carroll was all over the ice for the M1 Drexel University Dragons, as he tallied two goals and one assist in M1 Drexel University's 5-2 win over the M1 Naval Academy / United States Midshipmen.

Carroll's tallies came at 6:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 M1 Drexel University and on the power play 14:14 into the third to make the score 5-1 M1 Drexel University.

The Dragons pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 20 penalty minutes.

M1 Drexel University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow M1 Naval Academy / United States to score on any of its eight power plays.

M1 Drexel University also got points from Marco Gagliardi, who also registered one goal and one assist. M1 Drexel University also had goals scored by Tyler Woyshner and Ryan Williams, who each put in one. More assists for M1 Drexel University came via John Quigley, who had three and Patrick Swift, Matthew Williams, and Zachary Kantner, who contributed one each.

The Midshipmen struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 18 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. With 35 shots on target during the contest, M1 Naval Academy / United States exceeded the 3.2 shots it averages per game this year.

The Midshipmen were led by Trent Lulow, who finished with one goal. Lulow scored 4:20 into the third period to make the score 3-1 M1 Drexel University. Thomas Buckley picked up the assist. Steven Knopf also scored for M1 Naval Academy / United States. In addition, M1 Naval Academy / United States received assists from Cole Maetzold, who had one.

The Dragons' Kantner stopped 33 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Matt Truninger made 20 saves for M1 Naval Academy / United States on 25 shots.
