The M1 Illinois / University of Fighting Illini had trouble finding ways to stop the M1 Lindenwood University Lions, which beat Fighting Illini, 5-0.

M1 Lindenwood University's penalty kill excelled, as the Lions gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

M1 Lindenwood University was led by Peppi Sipila, who registered one goal. Sipila scored short handed 8:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 M1 Lindenwood University. The Lions were on a disadvantage when Lukas Daniels went off the ice for boarding.
