M1 Arizona State University holds on for 2-1 win against M1 Illinois / University of

The M1 Illinois / University of Fighting Illini tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the M1 Arizona State University Sun Devils held on for a 2-1 victory.

M1 Arizona State University made the score 2-0 on a goal by Thomas Cooney at 11:30 in the second period, and M1 Illinois / University of got as close as 2-1 when John Olen scored 2:30 into the third period.

The Fighting Illini were stymied by the Sun Devils' netminder Robert Levin, who stopped 39 shots during the victory. Levin certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.0 entering the contest.

M1 Arizona State University was led by Cooney, who registered one goal.
