Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the M1 Oklahoma / University of Sooners defeated the M1 Central Oklahoma / University of Bronchos in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.

M1 Oklahoma / University of came back from a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Sooners trailed 3-2 after a goal by M1 Central Oklahoma / University of's Trevor Yee at 17:36 in the third period. M1 Oklahoma / University of knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Cory Ramsey at 19:50 in the third period.
